A Week in the Life: Getting Ready

One project of Ali Edwards' that I have loved is her series on documenting A Week in the Life.

Sadly (?) the first time she shared this project was during our Europe trip. Since I was already pretty extensively documenting everything in sight, I wasn't so much able to play along.

On the upside, she's running it again live this month, from April 19-25. I'm super excited to play along this time. I've also set myself the ambitious goal of trying to scrapbook everything that week. Or at least to blog. But hopefully both. ;)

I got myself some new polaroid film, and I started work on the book (of course it's a minibook).

I took an old binder and re-purposed it (as per my very first tutorial ever). Once I stripped off the tacky old vinyl, I recovered the chipboard with kraft paper, and rebound it with some houndstooth gaffer tape.
I dove deep into my stash and found an old Cupcake Scrapshop kit to use for the interior. Okay, I started with that kit, but then I found a few other things on hand that I wanted to include as well.

Here's the cover.. at least what I have done so far. It's still quite a bit in progress.

The cover design was very much influenced by a book I saw by Celine Navarro. Oh, she inspires me so.

I'm going to be doing a bit more work on the pages inside, and I promise to share the interior when they are done. It's going to be super fun.

And that's about it for now.

Have a fantastic day.

Wow!! I really love your cover - you've totally inspired me to pre-do my cover...and I may just have to lift your grid of squares idea :) I hope that's ok with you! Thanks for the inspiration (and motivation)!!
