Around here....

Ever since I destroyed my beloved Canon Powershot S95 in Hawaii last March (took a tumble off a coral rock and landed barrel first), I've been pretty unhappy with the photographs I've taken.

Since we were on vacation when I killed my point and shoot, I picked up a cheapie little Canon at a Target, and it's been okay. Not great, but okay. About as good as an old cell phone. So I haven't been loving my photos.

Which means I haven't been taking photos. Well, that and all the drama this summer. And fall. Anyway...

I've been saving up for months to get a new camera. Something that is amazing, yet will fit in a purse. After being disappointed by the specs on the new stuff from Canon, and hearing the praises from my friend Steph, I decided to jump brands and get a Sony. Shocking, I know.

I finally brought home my new baby last night (thus the photo above). And I'm in love again. It's so easy to use, and I swear the OS is smarter than I am. It's a bit of a brick, and I'm not used to the grip or the OS, but the photos are turning out so good. The one above is straight from the camera, no PS, no tweaking. This is going to save me SO much time.

Time that I will now be able to use to scrap! Especially now that I have photos I'm excited about. :)

Now I just need to get the house cleaned up from our pre-Steamcon crafting furor so I can get photos for that house minibook I've been planning.

What are you excited about today?
