I (heart) Typeography

Love it when things just come together. Like lately, I've been very inspired by words and fonts and simple lines.

Been trying my hand at doing a little more hybrid. Using brushes and text on photos, even making a digital background and printing on cardstock (see below).

Let's start with my newest Mojo layout. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I love this story so much. I even have the Annotated Alice on my Christmas wish list this year. But, here's the thing. When I think Alice in Wonderland (and Through the Looking Glass) I tend to think more American McGee's or Tim Burton's Alice. All dark and spooky and a little goth (just like me, j/k.)
The quote is said by the duchess and I just think it is so fabulous. Also, Ali's digital brushes are awesome.

I have really liked this challenge site The Creative Type, since they launched as it has such a great concept and a totally rad design team. This month, I was honored to guest for them for challenge #6. Here is my take on mixing it up.
Oh, and here is a little freebie for you. Just right click and save as and then you can print away. Resize it for a tag, or a journaling block, use it as a background, whatever. Have fun.
Here is the layout I posted a sneak of forever ago. Yes, that is a real leaf. Thank you gel medium. Also, splattered spray ink is divine and I am utterly in love with these (and these) BG Ambrosia stamps. So good.
In other news, I found out on Friday afternoon that my job was eliminated. (Happy Friday Clouse!)

But wait, they had another, similar job for me to go to--instead of being let go. I am very greatful for this, but anxious about it as well. I sort of started today. It has been a little hectic, having to pack up my whole cube and move to another part of the building and close out my cases on such short notice. Also my new supervisor has been gone, so I don't really know what the expectations and whatnot are yet. Trying to stay positive.

Speaking of Starbucks, I was caught totally unawares bythe semi-holiday launch today. Really proud of the product development peeps. Because OMG, did any of you see the awesome new typography book? It has a green cover and a big number five letterpressed (I think) into the front.
I don't have any photos of it, and I haven't bought it yet, but I will. Oh I will. (It totally reminds me of Ali's Life Art book except totally typographic and not really scrapbook-ish. But it does have some excellent journaling and inspiration prompts). I'll try and get some photos for tomorrow.

That's all I got for now. Peace out.
