I took this whole week off from work. I'm hoping it will be a nice mix of doing my favorite things and conquering my to-do list.
One of my favorite things to do is go beachcombing at Alki Beach in West Seattle. I love the beach. In particular, I love the tide pools and all the cute little critters you can find there.
Walking along the beach with a cup of coffee in hand and my sweetie at my side really is as good as it gets.
As you can see, on this visit I went on the hunt for bits of sea glass. I managed to find quite a few pieces. They are hanging out in one of my milk glass dishes right now.
And yes, I am sometimes so pale my powershot pretends that I am a sparkly vampire and blows the colors all out of normal. It's good times though.

beautiful! it's been at least 3 years since i've been to Alki. MUST put it on my list of places to take the kiddos. the blog looks superb, btw :)
I want to go Sea Glass hunting! But I don't think the beaches in my area have any sea glass :(

The absolute coolest idea I've ever seen for how to "display" sea glass I saw in a magazine or a home TV show somewhere. Of course it was like a billion-dollar house on the sea or something, lol.
Anyway, the center of the main door was filled with this window where the window only came about 90% of the way up to the top. Make sense? So there was a small gap where the top of the window ended and the bottom of the frame began.
The window itself was double-paned with the space in the middle open ... So the woman who lived in the house would always return from the beach with a handful of sea glass she'd found, and she'd drop it into this window space. It was about a quarter of the way full in the pictures and so brilliant and beautiful.
I really wish I could find the photo to show you; hopefully this makes sense anyway:) When I saw the idea, I filed it away in memory to do someday in my dream home:)
