OLW: 2011

There is no value in life except what you choose to place upon it and no happiness in any place except what you bring to it yourself.

- Henry David Thoreau

My word for 2011 is value.

I want this year to be about exploring values. I want to identify what is valuable to me financially, emotionally, ethically and in my physical space and surroundings so that I can discard what is truly not important.

I want to simplify and focus and enjoy and discover and journey and all those other pretty artsy words too. Maybe along the way I'll find value and be able to move on to something else before the year is up.

But right now, I'm all about evaluating and then taking action. That's what's valuable to me.

It's a place to start.

What a strong word you've chose, full of possibility :) I'm looking forward to seeing how you continue with you album. I've just signed up for my first Ali Edwards class and am really looking forward to how it helps me focus.

I'm contemplating signing up for the OLW class...just not sure..what can you tell me to push me over the edge to sign up?

I've never chosen a word before...and this year well, a word really chose (or came to) me!

Great word, & a great goal. Simplify was mine last year & all I can say is that it has been very freeing applying it to every area of my life. Best wishes from a fellow Seattlite(sp.?)!
